Pepe Pizzas

  1. PEPES
  2. Tomato sauce
  3. Shredded Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix of both work best)
  4. Olive oil/cooking spray
  5. A selection of your favourite vegetables and toppings!

  1. Chop up any vegetables, and prep all other toppings (cook pepperoni if using any… crumble goat’s cheese, etc). Set toppings aside.
  2. Heat your pan, and add a little bit of olive oil or cooking spray so that your pizzas don’t stick/burn.
  3. Prepare each pizza according to preference. An assembly line with your friends works well here – one person spread the sauce on half of each pepe, pass it to the next to add the cheese, and each person can select their own toppings.
  4. Fold the prepared pepes in half, and set aside.
  5. GRILL TO PERFECTION – Cook each pizza for about 2-5 minutes, flipping once or twice (depending on how hot your fire is)
  6. When the outside is browning slightly and the cheese is melted, the pizza is ready to enjoy!
  7. Repeat as needed… after a hard day’s canoeing and portaging, even the tiniest campers have been known to eat as many as 8-10 pepe pizzas! They are a tripping favourite.
