A natural waterslide

February 10th, 2017

We woke up nice and early on our 3rd day of Zod trip, and little did we know what a wonderful day it would be. We packed up the tents, ate breakfast and left site. After a paddle, a 1km portage, and lunch, we arrived at High Falls Lake.

The girls, Sam (the other tripper), and I were all very excited for our first trip to High Falls. High falls is a complex of pools and water falls, at the top of which is a natural waterslide that feeds into a large pool of water. This is a very well known spot, and is visited by many families each summer.

Walking along the path to High Falls, we picked wild blueberries as our afternoon snack.

Once we arrived, everyone had a great time swimming, relaxing, and of course sliding down the waterslide. After three days of hard work, it was lovely to be able to sit in the refreshing water, slide down an awesome natural waterslide, and hang out in the spectacular Algonquin Forest.
