University Leadership Programs
At the Leadership Centre we believe that camp is the best place for young people to play, learn together successfully, and develop social skills that allow them to be productive and respected members of their community.
Brining your soon to be teachers outside of their normal classroom to camp will allow them to become more aware of their senses. It will teach them to be an effective team player, build on their communications skills as well as test personal boundaries and achieve personal goals. We believe in hands on learning approach and at Walden we can achieve that.
Together with the Camp Director you can create a schedule that best fits your school and its students and teachers.
Our staff and directors can help facilitate the following programs:
•Formation of friendships
•Personal and group challenges
•Cooperation, trust, mentoring and leadership
•The opportunity to participate and learn through hands-on experiences
We believe strongly in the importance of the healthy development of youth through living active lifestyles.
For the past three years we have been the chosen venue and proud supporter of the PHE Canada Student Leadership Conference .
9 WEEKS TO WALDEN!
Spending time around the campfire is a sacred camp activity. A special communal experience, it provides a welcome change of pace from high-energy camp activities. A campfire at Walden is a delight for all of the senses: the sound of the crackling fire, the smell of burning wood, the sight of the dancing flames, the feel of the warmth and the taste of food roasted over the fire. Whether listening to someone play the guitar, singing songs, roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply revelling in the beauty of the fire, the campfire is a uniquely camp experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
FUN FACT: At Walden we have 21 fire pits! Can you name them all? Check your answer here!
Log in the fire, and the fire grows brighter. There are only 9 weeks until we sit around the campfire again.
